TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
Here at Oboz, we strongly believe in simplicity and quality. All of our technological features were designed to improve the performance of the shoe in direct and meaningful ways rather than throwing on unnecessary gadgets that sound cool, but do little to improve the shoe. What you'll find here are true, well thought out, performance oriented technological features.
OUTSOLE RUBBER & DESIGN
Our proprietary high friction carbon rubber compound is engineered with the perfect balance of friction and durability. We've maximized traction while extending the lifespan of the outsole. Additionally, Oboz rubber is non-marking.
Realizing that much of the weight in a pair of shoes is in the rubber, we've designed all of our outsoles to eliminate unnecessary rubber, making Oboz shoes light and fast. We've also strategically placed propulsion and breaking lugs to give you the highest return for your efforts.
RADIAL FIT SYSTEM™
We integrate our uppers and bottoms through our Radial Fit System. By internally and directly connecting the upper and the bottom, your foot will be locked in place and not slide forward and back with every step you take. The Radial Fit System provides more support, better heel lock and a more stable shoe.
3D MOLDED HEEL COUNTER
Our external heel counters are 3 dimensionally injection molded. Unlike a flat molded heel counter common to most outdoor footwear, they provide long term support, motion control and heel lock. The heel counters are engineered gender specific to account for the differences between men's and women's feet: different heel-toe/heel-ball length ratios, different forefoot/midfoot girths, different Achilles heel attachment points, and different feet entirely.
BFIT™ INSOLES
Our B-Fit insoles are designed with multiple densities of foam, providing support throughout the plantar fascia, and a defined and formed heel cup, these are after-market quality insoles, installed as original equipment.
BDRY™ MEMBRANE
We have developed our own PTFE waterproof-breathable membrane, called BDry. It is permeable to water vapor escaping, but impervious to water entering.
