We use a high friction carbon rubber compound in our outsoles. Proprietary to Oboz, it provides great traction and durability, and it’s non-marking. Since much of a shoe’s weight is in the rubber, we designed all of our outsoles to eliminate as much rubber as possible We've also strategically placed propulsion and breaking lugs to give you the highest return for your efforts. The results? Oboz shoes are light and fast.

There’s a lot that goes into making a shoe comfortable, but the insole is probably the most obvious. We have, therefore, taken insole design pretty seriously since day one. The BFit Standard insole contains three densities of foam, has a solid heel cup, and provides support throughout the plantar fascia. We’ve recently come out with an even more substantial insole, called BFit Deluxe. The BFit Deluxe insole has a well defined arch that is positioned to support and relax the Transverse Arch. It also has a shaped heel pocket to keep the foot centered properly inside the shoe. The BFit Deluxe is composed of an EVA resin that will maintain shape over time. There are two pockets of softer EVA under the heel and forefoot for cushioning, and perforations that open into channels on the underside of the insole that allow for breathability and air flow. Many of the Oboz models come with something called a 3D molded external heel counter. Most shoes have heel counters, but what’s unique about the Oboz ones is that they are molded three dimensionally instead of flat and bent to shape. The heel counter provides a nice shape to the back of the shoe, which will help prevent heel slippage and keep your foot centered inside the shoe. Since our heel counters are 3D molded, they will keep shape until you decide to retire your kicks.

We have developed our own PTFE waterproof-breathable membrane, called BDry. It is permeable to water vapor escaping, but impervious to water entering.
