Oboz Athletes

For one reason or another, these adventures inspired us and we wanted these folks traveling the trails in our shoes. As they cross over summits, behind waterfalls & across plains, Oboz shoes will be along for the ride. Catch up on tales from the trail on our blog.

DAVE GANTZ

In August of 2003, Dave shattered his tibia and fibula in his lower right leg while playing NCAA soccer. Lying in the ER, he promised himself that he would hike the length of the Appalachian Trail. He began hiking the AT on June 15, 2005 and has since become a true hiking addict. This summer, Dave plans to hike the Continental Divide Trail (Southbound).

Fern

Fern

Fern's summer trek will take her from Geneva, Switzerland to La Finesterre, Spain on a trail called "El Camino de Santiago". It's a 1,200 mile hike that Fern is expecting to finish in about 55 days going 22 miles per day on average. When Fern's not on the trail, she's planting trees. How appropriate for an Oboz athlete!?

KLING MOUNTAIN GUIDES

Kling Mountain Guides is a small locally owned and operated outdoor education and mountain guide service based in Durango, Colorado. Kling Mountain Guides lead trips dripping with educational lessons and wild adventures. Exploring wild places whilst pouring back into the Durango community is what they're all about!

Pepper

Pepper’s current project is to link the world's eastern most 8000M peak, Kanchenjunga, with the world's west most 8000M peak, Nanga Parbat, with his buddy Trauma. The pair will work in conjunction with the Great Himalaya Trail Alliance to record waypoints, place names and village services to further the development of the emerging Great Himalaya Trail (GHT).

SAGE

Sage was born in a little cabin in Northern California, and her parents gave her a trail name before she could even walk - only no one realized it until she discovered long distance hiking. She has since hiked the Grand Enchantment Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, and Appalachian Trail. This June, she plans to hike from Cape Mendocino on the Lost Coast of California to Death Valley. The trek is about 1400 miles long with about 1000 miles on existing trails and 400 miles involving a little bit more adventure.
